In January 2025, we visited four counties in Unity State, South Sudan, affected by protracted flooding since 2020. The visit was a joint mission between Hope Restoration South Sudan and Lulu-Afrika, aimed at witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of the HRSS projects implemented in 2024—from community building to economic empowerment. We spoke with women and girls supported by the Women- and Girls-Friendly Spaces to better understand their experiences. The mission also aimed to review and monitor the outcomes of these projects and assess the ongoing needs within the communities.
