Every December, while families prepare for the holidays, over 500 girls, some as young as 8, in Tanzania’s Mara region along the Kenya‑Tanzania border face the brutal risk of FGM.
FGM causes severe bleeding, lifelong trauma, and sometimes even death. Often after FGM girls are pushed into early, sometimes forced marriage. Despite laws against it, the practice persists — stripping girls of their health, dignity, and their future.
Our Urgent Response
This December, in partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Musoma, we will run a rapid rescue mission to protect at least 450 girls. To do this successfully, we must have funds in place by November. Will you help us get there?
